My name is Georgie Svrcek, and I’m a creative artist (aka a whole bunch of things) based in Chicago, IL. This website showcases some of the cool stuff I do and have done. Neat, right? Right?

Who I am.
I am a person who loves to create. Whether that’s playwriting, writing fiction, acting, or doing improv comedy, my favorite thing in the world is making something new and sharing it with others.
My writing often focuses on women (of the past and present), queer people and their love, how we tell and retell stories, and the lives of those in worlds not too far from our own. In acting, I find myself drawn to characters struggling with and working through their complicated feelings and relationships with others. And in improv comedy, I tend to do a lot of weird voices and going on the floor. A wide range.
Outside of marketable pursuits, I enjoy crossword puzzles, my cats, listening to the same songs over and over again, and collecting earrings.
I graduated from Skidmore College in 2025 with a BS in Theater and a minor in Creative Writing, and I’m looking forward to making my place in the world through art and generally being a nuisance.

My one-woman show La Pittura was selected to be part of Dramatic Question Theatre’s American Woman development program for 2025. The program consists of eight weeks of work in a cohort with six other performers, led by Raquel Almazan
In October 2025, I was cast in New Team Smell’s 18th season for a team coached by Ty Sato with a run at the iO Theater from November to January 2026
In September 2025, I was chosen for the lab cast of the iO Theater’s team Blueprint coached by Avery Ford. The team was dubbed Blue.0 (blue-point-oh) and has an eight-week run from September 25th to November 13th
